My name is Kristle Wardlaw. I am a mother of two beautiful children. I am originally from Chicago, Il. I came to West Helena, Arkansas to clear my mind and begin planning my future for me and my children. I have changed careers so many times. By having children and it no longer being just me, I knew I had to pick a career, stick with it, and get started on getting a degree in that field.

I heard about becoming a Nurses Assistant through friends and family. I decided I would do that just to have a steady income in the family while I was still figuring out what I really wanted to do with my life. My plans to move back to Chicago weren’t for another 5-6 months and I had already been in West Helena for a year.

I decided to get a jump start on my plans and take a CNA course at the Phillips Community College. I was told about Career Pathway and how they could help me find a career goal, get started, possibly pay for all my expenses, and take care of my child care expenses so that I could go to school. I successfully completed the course in June 2006. Career Pathway convinced me to futher my education in the medical field. Informing me how staying at the Phillips College would be a great atmosphere for me to learn and study in. I am now working toward my associates in nursing. I received a certificate in Medical Terminology, and I currently have a 4.0 GPA. Now I can go to school without worrying about debt later.

Career Pathways has changed my life in so many ways. It is one of the best decisions I could have ever made for me and my children.
