Robbie Peyton is a black, single mother. She has a 4 year old daughter, who is a major reason why Robbie was a Career Pathways college student. Through many life experiences, Robbie began to understand the best thing she could ever do was provide a good life and example to her child. She also began to understand that the best way to do that was to get a college education.

Not knowing how she was going to accomplish that, by faith she showed up to SEARK on Registration day to enroll in college. While in line, still bewildered, she was told about Career Pathways. When she came to visit with the staff and get more information, she knew immediately it was an answered prayer. She now had not only a way to go to college, but a way to succeed there.

Robbie works as a CNA to pay the bills and feed her family. She is very thankful to have the opportunity to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, and is on her way to accomplishing that dream. She graduated in December 2007 with her LPN, and will reenter the next year to earn her RN degree.
