Grassroots Efforts

In 2005, Southern joined the Mid South Network (MSN), an association part of the Rural People, Rural Policy (RPRP) Initiative. The purpose of RPRP is to create a collective, strong and effective voice for rural policy across the country through its networks and the National Rural Assembly. In May 2011, Southern was named the Network Coordinator for the MSN. The Mid South Network is comprised of twelve grassroots nonprofit organizations from Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
