Southern Bancorp Community Partners (SBCP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affiliate of Southern Bancorp, a rural development bank that shares the mission and goals of SBCP.  Because of this unique partnership between a development bank and a rural development nonprofit, SBCP is able to leverage numerous types of support ranging from grants, loans to impact investments like deposits and equity investments. Southern’s unique structure provides numerous opportunities to support our work.

Bank with Southern – With more than 80,000 customers from Little Rock, Arkansas; to New Orleans, Louisiana; and Memphis, Tennessee; Southern Bancorp is America’s leading rural development bank. Today’s challenging environment has forced many organizations to reduce mission focus at this time of critical need. Our approach is to move against this trend by expanding into additional distressed rural markets while maintaining the focus on our 20-year goal of transforming the communities we serve through a 50 percent reduction in poverty and unemployment and a 50 percent increase in high school graduation rates. Banking with Southern Bancorp allows philanthropic organizations and mission driven individuals to expand their mission impact while receiving high quality financial services.

Invest money – No amount is too big or too small when it is put to work in Southern’s communities. Southern’s unique structure offers numerous investment opportunities, ranging from grants to our nonprofits to capital for our community banks. That means you can prioritize financial or social return on your investment, find a risk structure that fits your needs, invest an amount that fits your mission and comfort level, and use an investment tool that meets your needs.

Invest time – If you live in or near one of Southern’s communities, you can participate in strategic planning sessions, volunteer with the VITA tax assistance program, or get involved in other ways.

Invest influence – Take every opportunity to spread the word about Southern’s work in the Delta. There are many opportunities to learn more, and you can use what you learn to generate support for Southern and the communities we serve.
