Phillips County

Building off of the success of its 2005 Strategic Community Plan, the Phillips County Delta Bridge Project released in 2010 an ambitious new 10-year Strategic Community Plan with the support of more than 600 Phillips County residents (available here).  To date, the Delta Bridge Project has leveraged more than $98 million dollars for Phillips County, including more than $24 million in direct grants and loans from Southern and its funding partners and $75 million of funds invested through individuals, businesses, foundations, public sources, and community partners.  The Delta Bridge Project has been recognized at the regional, state, and national level as a model for rural development.

Some of the projects supported by the Delta Bridge Project in Phillips County include the Boys & Girls Club of Phillips County, KIPP Delta Public Schools, the new Phillips County Library, Southern Place Apartments, the Helena Entrepreneur Center, Phillips Community College’s Great River Promise scholarship, the King Biscuit Blues Festival, a countywide teen pregnancy prevention program, and the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce’s new Business Retention and Expansion Program.  Visit www.deltabridgeproject.com for more updates and the latest Delta Bridge Project news.
